At Sherford Vale, there are a number of ways that we support the speech, language and communication needs of our children.

• Advice and support sought from our link S&L Therapist at Livewell.
• Assessment and specialist assessment from the S&L Team at Livewell.
• Interventions and programmes of support implemented by a Speech and Language Therapist, alongside coaching for teachers and support staff into how to conduct the support in school.
• CPD opportunities for all staff to broaden and strengthen understanding of support strategies such as: cued articulation, colourful semantics, Early Years Speech and Language development.

This year, the school will also be supported by Chloe Ridgway, a Speech and Language Therapist from the Plymouth Learning Partnership. Chloe will be in school every Monday, to conduct assessments, work directly with children and provide advice and support for staff.
