About Us

A Warm Welcome to Sherford Vale School & Nursery

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Sherford Vale School and Nursery – the very first primary school in the new and thriving town of Sherford!

As Headteacher, I feel incredibly privileged to lead a school that sits at the heart of its community. Sherford Vale is a place where children are encouraged to learn, play, and grow in a safe, inspiring, and nurturing environment – a truly special place to be.

This website will give you a glimpse into life at Sherford Vale and the exciting opportunities that await you and your child as part of our journey toward educational excellence. If you’re interested in joining us, please visit our Admissions page for details on how to apply.

Purpose-built for learning, Sherford Vale boasts outstanding facilities including a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), outdoor classrooms, generous green spaces, and a fun adventure trail. These extensive grounds support a calm, safe setting where children can flourish.

Our pupils are motivated and enthusiastic about their learning. We deliver a rich, ambitious curriculum that inspires every child to succeed and make strong progress. Our aim is to build a solid foundation of knowledge and skills that will serve them throughout their education and beyond.

Learning at Sherford Vale goes beyond the classroom. Trips, visitors, and residential experiences enrich our curriculum, strengthen community connections, and provide meaningful, real-world learning opportunities.

We are proud of the supportive, inclusive, and aspirational environment we’ve created – a school where children are happy, challenged, and excited to learn.

To support busy families, we offer before and after-school care with full access to our excellent outdoor and sports facilities. As part of the successful Westcountry Schools Trust, we also benefit from shared expertise, specialist teaching, and collaborative learning opportunities across a wider family of schools.

We warmly welcome parents, carers, and community members to be part of our continuing journey. Together, we can create a brighter future for our children and build a community your family will be proud to call home.

With warmest wishes,

Mrs. Laurie Archer
