This term we have been learning all about traditional tales. We have read:
* The Three little pigs
* The Gingerbread man
* Goldilocks and the three bears.
The children have been creating houses for the three little pigs with a variety of construction materials, and trying to blow them down like the big bad wolf As well as exploring straw and sticks to see if they could create houses - that was a bit trickier. They also got the chance to bake some gingerbread men of their own - luckily they didn't jump up and out of the oven!! The children have taste tested some porridge, just like goldilocks and voted to see which was the most popular.
In class, the children learnt about Guy Fawkes night. The children came up with lots of ideas about how to stay safe on Fireworks night, including staying back from the fire and fireworks, and always staying with our adults. As well as enjoying creating their own sparkly fireworks pictures, using their favourite colours.
The children got very excited in the run-up to Christmas. In class, we decorated our Christmas tree and made special gifts for our families including Christmas cards and special Christmas pictures.
