History – First Flights
This term in History, Year 1 will be learning about First Flights. The children will explore how flight has changed over time and learn about important events, people and inventions linked to the history of aviation. Through stories, discussions and exciting activities, children will begin to understand how travel in the air has developed from the past to the present day.

Science – Animals Including Humans
In Science, our topic is Animals Including Humans. The children will learn to identify and name a variety of animals and explore whether they are carnivores, herbivores or omnivores. They will also learn about the basic parts of the human body through practical and engaging activities. To enrich our learning, we are excited to have a planned trip to Dartmoor Zoo, where children will have the opportunity to observe and learn about a wide range of animals first-hand.
