Fox class consists of children in year 3.
Fox class is taught by Miss Brown.
For our Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) project, we will plan, design, and make rockets!
English will follow a two weekly cycle, with a Big Write at the end of the second week. We will focus on a range of genres throughout the term. These will be: fact files, an explanation text and writing a persuasive letter. The genres explored in English will always have links to the topic to maximise learning and provide links for the children.
Learning in maths will help the children develop their understanding of place value, addition and subtraction and then start to look in more depth at multiplication and division with a focus on units of measurement.
Foxes will enjoy many science investigations which will be linked to our topic and the children will be encouraged to explore the world through these investigations. Next term, we will be examining light and electricity through the link to our topic.
We have our PE lessons on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Our indoor PE lessons involve developing counter-balances, jumps and rolls into routines in Gymnastics. Whilst in outdoor PE we are focusing on football skills, working to develop children’s ball control, technique and teamwork.
Homework will be issued on a Wednesday to be returned the following Monday, with spellings also tested on the Monday.
