The Box Museum Trip - Mayflower Workshop

As part of our history learning, we visited the Box Museum to round-off our topic on the Mayflower!

We started the visit with a workshop on The Mayflower, looking at replica artefacts from the 1620s and discussing how history has many sides to a story. We learned about how the Wampanoag tribe and First People, lived and how they used the land to survive. We also studied the replica artefacts of the Pilgrims and other European settlers.

After this we were taken on a guided tour of the museum, exploring the different galleries, including a 3D film about how Plymouth has grown and developed throughout history. We closed the day with a tour of the animal gallery and historical periods artefacts gallery, completing sketches of artefacts and recording where they came from and the year they were discovered.
